Description
I'm bored, so I'm drawing different popular characters as birds. This time its Sollux Captor, even though I know shit about him. BUT WHAT DO I CARE AHAHAAHAHHFRDERHASHRASHRRERHUERHUASHDFAS
The Ornamentbirds are a unique family of birds in the order Coraciiformes, which contains birds such as kingfishers, motmots and bee-eaters. They are believed to be very closely related, all derived from a single ancestor that wandered onto the island. They have developed a wide range of niches, despite retaining their fairly plain appearance. They are most notable for their colourful head crests, which can help in identification. A common trait of these birds is that they are solitary. The breeding behaviour of these birds is completely unknown to most individuals and is currently under investigation.
Double-Crested Ornamentbird
Heliatrolus castorii
The Double-Crested Ornamentbird is unique in its family for having two feathers on each side of the crest as opposed to one. This bird is highly intelligent and perhaps is the most intelligent of all the ornamentbirds. Its call sounds like "teu teu", in quick succession. Its song consists of a constant warble with "teu" thrown in at certain key moments, repeating segments when sung with a mate.
